Why have a styleguide?
The purpose of a styleguide is to promote a cohesive image of Care For Dogs Romania so that it will be easily recognizable by more and more people as time goes by. Treating CFDR as a brand rather than just another shelter will help drive more donations and in turn more dogs helped, possibly even a better chance at changing the mentality regarding responsible pet ownership in the area.
It has been said that one should dress for the job they want, not the job they have. The same way, we the CFDR volunteers should treat the association and the shelter the way we would want it to be: a recognizable brand and a power house when it comes to rescuing animals and educating the people about responsible pet ownership and civic spirit. Following a cohesive styleguide will help us reach this goal.

Letterhead templates
Formal | Informal 1 | Informal 2 | |
---|---|---|---|
Usage | Official letterhead should be used when communicating with authorities such as ANAF, city halls, etc. Exercise discretion when using this letterhead since it includes Delia’s address. As you may know an association’s official address need not be the physical address of the shelter. On the same token the shelter does not have an address since it is located in a rural area where there are no street address (only map coordinates) | Informal letterhead 1 should be used when communicating with prospective donors or entities you think it is useful to have CFDR donation information, such as other associations that might enter in a collaboration contract with CFDR or media that might write articles about CFDR, etc. | Informal letterhead 2 should be used when communicating with friends and family and you want them to know about your volunteer activities, but you don’t want to make them feel like they are obligated to donate. |

Considering that one of the core values of CFDR is educating the public about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, a presentation about your volunteer activities will come in very handy.

Business cards
Business cards come in handy during those moments when you talk to someone about CFDR or about animal welfare in general and you want to leave a token of remembrance that’s not too large, not too small, so that they’ll remember the “education” you just provided and possibly check CFDR webpage or social media presence.
If you want a business card with your name and contact info bearing the CFDR logo, please email danielaonel@gmail.com and CC carefordogsro@gmail.com

Postcards
Unlike business cards, postcards usually serve a specific purpose on top of promoting CFDR and animal rights/welfare. On the same token postcards can be seasonal. E.g. winter holidays themed postcards or Easter themed postcards.
Here are a few designs that we used so far.
If you have ideas for a postcard design or you need a specific postcard, please email danielaonel@gmail.com
